About me: Beach bum with a sense for adventure

Hello, 

My name is Diane Pietro. I grew up in Far Rockaway, New York. 

Growing up in a poorer neighborhood, family vacations were few and far between. When my son was one, I lost my dad. His passing made me realize how little time we spent together. My dad was always working overtime. When he was home, he was always tired. So I made myself and my son two promises. 1. We will have at least one family vacation a year. 2  He will have a college vacation. 

I joined the airline industry to keep my vacation promise. I've been in the travel industry for over 20 years. I enjoyed traveling with my son for many years,  especially to Disney World and tropical places. We love cruises.

In 1993 when my son was four, I divorced,  but I was still determined to have a vacation every year,  even if my budget advised differently.

I became resourceful in finding the best vacation deals and highly creative in saving money when traveling.

In the 90s, a single mom going on vacation with her young son wasn't expected. I learned quickly a single mom was treated differently from other guests, but that didn't stop me. On the contrary, it made me more determined to travel and help others feel comfortable when traveling, no matter their circumstance or budget.

I welcome and treat all my travelers with the respect and dignity they deserve. 

I am ready to travel with others now that my son is grown.

Since 2008 I have been involved with Meetup.com. I have created a photography community of over 4000 photographers. We offer photography workshops and local photography tours.

In October 2022, I created a second group for travelers over 45. Minnesota Travel Adventures and Events.

I am skilled at creating inclusive travel communities for inquisitive like-minded travelers ages 45 +. Together we travel the world experiencing different cultures while immersing ourselves in the region's art, history, traditions, and fine foods. As we share our travel days, new friendships develop over great dinner conversations. With every travel detail organized,  you can explore and indulge in your carefree wanderlust.

It doesn't matter if you are traveling alone, with your posse or with one of ours. We will be with you every step of the way to answer any questions you may have.
